Who needs a factory-made box of chocolates when you can get high-quality, delicious, handmade sweets for your sweetie at Aigner Chocolates? The Forest Hills chocolatier was founded in 1930 and has been making the best chocolate in Queens ever since. The business was passed through three generations of the Aigner family, starting with first generation immigrants. Using traditional, Austrian techniques, the store began with just one employee and one mixing machine. The business was carried on by the Aigner family until 2015, when the business was sold to Mark Libertini and Rachel Kellner. The couple has continued the rich tradition and has upheld Aigner Chocolates’ reputation as the chocolatier in Queens.

Aigner Chocolates is one of the oldest chocolate companies in New York, dating back to 1930. Over the years, three generations have worked for the business, bringing fresh handmade chocolate to New York. The small, piece-by-piece handmade chocolate company is largely a thing of the past, but through this movement, they have been revitalized and re-energized by a completely new clientele who are experiencing and tasting this age-old craft for the first time.
