He planned to use it as the Queens leg of his art cinema circuit that included the Cinema Village in lower Manhattan and the D. W. Griffith on the Upper East Side. It became a twin theatre in the ‘70s, and the name was eventually shortened to Cinemart. Today, the cinema features five screens with a Dolby Digital sound system. The newest addition is a lounge area with a working fireplace where guests can enjoy food and drinks before their movie.
